On Thursday we were privileged to have an extremely talented percussionist visit our school to do a demonstration assembly and lead workshop sessions with each year group. Taking time out of her busy performing schedule in the big London venues, Donna-Marie introduced the school to Samba drumming. We found out about the origins of Samba, the instruments used and learnt some rhythmic patterns performed on each different instrument. It was a great opportunity for the children to be able to perform in a large group and enjoy the rhythmic beats.

A very noisy and extremely vivacious Samba session in the hall for everyone this week - playing a huge range of percussion to a samba beat. That certainly released a lot of energy!

Thanks to the PTA for their contribution to this.
