We provide the opportunity for children from all year groups to join the school choir. The choir is led by our Music Teacher and is held on Tuesday lunchtimes for Year 3 & 4 and Wednesday lunchtiimes for Year 5 & 6. There is no parental permission form required and children will be informed in assembly and class when the choir sessions are happening. In the past the choir gets involved in community activities such as the carol singing at the Ashley Shopping Centre and Sainsbury’s, at the Epsom & Ewell Music Festival and raising money for the Epsom hospital equipment fund. Some private instrumental lessons may be available during lunchtime or after school such as piano; but these must be arranged privately and directly with the instrument teacher.
The Music Teacher will also be running a recorder club on Thursday lunchtimes. As with choir no parental permission form required and children will be informed in assembly and class when the choir sessions are happening. We would like parents, if possible, to bring in a recorder (clearly name labelled) for their child to use; although we do have some in school.
We have the following external music and dance based clubs: Theatre Arts and Hip Hop. Mrs Cratchley can be contacted regarding piano lessons which takes place on our school premises.
