As part of our National Numeracy Day celebrations, the children have been busy exploring how maths plays an important role in everyday life. Working in collaboration with Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS), pupils took part in engaging activities focused on money in the community, where they used their mathematical skills to plan budgets, make spending decisions, and think about saving. It was fantastic to see them applying their knowledge in such practical and meaningful ways, developing a deeper understanding of how numbers support real-life choices.
In addition, children entered the National Numeracy competition, where they were invited to design a creative piece of artwork showcasing maths in the community. Their work highlighted just how often we use numbers in our daily lives, from shopping and travel to sports and timekeeping. Some of the wonderful examples were shared in the newsletter on 4th June 2026.
